Dr. Tania Enid Velez is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and the founder of Velez Family Health, located in the Metro West area of Orlando, Florida. Driven by a deep passion for helping others and serving her community, Dr. Velez integrates conventional medicine with evidence-based alternative therapies, offering her patients a holistic and personalized approach to healthcare. Her goal is to not only treat illnesses but to empower her patients to achieve lifelong health and wellness.

Dr. Velez believes in seeing beyond the diagnosis, taking the time to truly understand each patient’s unique story and health needs. She creates an environment where her patients feel heard, valued, and supported, emphasizing the importance of prevention and wellness. She guides her patients toward taking control of their health, providing them with the education and tools needed to prevent and even reverse disease.

In her pursuit of helping her community, Dr. Velez also became a designated Civil Surgeon, licensed to perform immigration medical exams. She takes pride in assisting individuals and families navigating the immigration process, ensuring they receive compassionate and thorough care during an important transition in their lives.

Dr. Velez’s journey in the medical field began early, gaining diverse experience that has shaped her empathetic and knowledgeable approach. She started her career working in medical records, billing, and credentialing at a cardiology office, and later became a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), gaining hands-on experience in a busy Miami emergency room before attending medical school.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida, where she also completed a minor in Business. Dr. Velez went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine, followed by completing her Family Medicine residency at Florida Hospital in Orlando. Pursuing her passion for holistic care, she completed a two-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona. Additionally, she holds a Diploma in International Medicine and Public Health from the Institute for International Medicine.

Beyond her private practice, Dr. Velez has a strong commitment to helping underserved communities globally. She has participated in numerous medical missions in countries such as the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Panama, Thailand, and Ecuador, where she brings her expertise and compassionate touch to those in need.

When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Velez loves spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and traveling. She believes in setting and achieving meaningful goals, whether it’s through new adventures or training for physical challenges like the Spartan Trifecta. Dr. Velez’s life and work are guided by her passion for making a difference, both in her community and beyond, as she helps her patients lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
