We can all agree that 2020 has been quite the eventful year. We are all suffering from increased stress due to the many events that have unfolded. One thing that gives me hope that we, the people, can make a profound impact on what our future holds by one simple act, voting. If you aren’t already registered, or if you need to check on or update your status, do so now. There are exactly 42 days until Official Election Day November 3rd.
Voting during a pandemic has brought another level of complexity. But, we can do so safely. If you wish to not vote in person, order your mail in ballot now. Remember there maybe delays in the mailing process. Mail back early enough to make it on time. Make sure you sign the back of the envelope with the same signature that is on file for you. If your signature has changed, you can fill out a new signature form for the Elections Office to have on file. Signatures that do not match will be thrown out. You can drop your ballot off to any early voting site prior to Election Day. You can also drop off your ballot directly to your local Office of Elections no later than 7pm on November 3rd.
Vote Early! My personal preference is to vote early. This will help to decrease the crowds on Election Day and help to spread them out over several days. Also, this avoids any issues you may run into on Election Day. I recommend wearing a mask, standing at minimum 6 ft apart, and to take safety a bit further, I’d recommend taking your own black ball point pen, sanitizer, and wearing safety glasses.
Don’t let anything stand in your way of exercising your civil right of voting.
Let your voices be heard.
